Call to Order 2. Roll Call Present: 10 - Sitkiewitz, Nickels, Czekala, Brey, Schlei, Vanderkin, Brunner, Cummings, Boldt and Reckelberg Absent: 1- Beeman 3. Public Comment Council President Czekala declared the meeting open for public input. In accordance with policy, the public input portion of the meeting is not made a part of the official record. 4. Discussion and Action Items 22-0332 Placement of Stop Signs throughout Downtown Manitowoc Attachments: Kummer Email Correspondence Council President Czekala explained the item was placed on the agenda for discussion from the request of a citizen. The committee agreed the four-way stops worked throughout downtown and helped traffic slow down. The Committee questioned if the traffic lights could flash at certain times of the day when traffic is lighter. Community Development Director Adam Tegen explained that part of the downtown is state highway. The state requires a review of any changes on a state highway. Council President Czekala asked to have a study conducted to investigate the area and ask staff to explore different options for the downtown and report back to the Committee. 22-0337 Use of Remote Conferencing Software (Zoom) by Alderpersons for Meeting Attendance The Committee discussed adding language in the 2022-2023 Council Rules to include the use of remote conferencing software by Alderpersons for meeting attendance. This meeting is being conducted both in Council Chambers at City Hall and via Zoom to maximize opportunities for residents to attend. Those attending the meeting via Zoom who wish to give public input are asked to keep their microphone muted until public input is opened to improve audio quality for all attendees.
