New Business 18-0253 Manitowoc Sex Offender Residency Board Appeal for Christopher Klein. Moved by Czekala, seconded by Novak, that this Request be denied and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz 18-0255 Monthly housing inspection citation report. Attachments: BI Report to Public Safety March 2018 Prior to each Public Safety meeting a housing inspection citation report will be provided to the committee as they are the oversight committee for the inspection program. 6. Old Business 18-0158 Summer Crossing Guard Support at Jackson Elementary School. Attachments: Crossing Guard Request Jackson Elementary Summer School Crossing Guard After discussing the need for crossing guards during summer school, the Public Safety committee made a motion to approve the request for the cost of one crossing guard for 2018. Duane Simmons, Jackson Elementary School Principal was made aware a request will need to be made each year. Moved by Novak, seconded by Lotz, that this Request be approved and referred to the Finance Committee. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz City of Manitowoc Page 2 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes March 12, 2018 17-1217 An Ordinance to create Section 14.180 of the Manitowoc Municipal Code regulating Security Cameras at Convenience Stores. Attachments: An Ordinance to create Section 14.180 of the Manitowoc Municipal Code regulating Security Cameras at Convenience Stores. Police Chief Nick Reimer worked with Crime Prevention Sergeant Bruce Jacobs to reach out to local convenience store owners and they were all against regulating this ordinance. At this time the Manitowoc Police Department will continue its efforts to work with all businesses to minimize crime in the City. Moved by Novak, seconded by Czekala, that this Ordinance be placed on file. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz 17-1219 An Ordinance to create 16.200 of the Manitowoc Municipal Code regulating Residential Rental Contact Registration and Inspection Program. Convene into Closed Session City of Manitowoc Page 3 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes March 12, 2018 Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body may adjourn into a closed session during the meeting as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(f) of the Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes the governmental body to convene in closed session for the purpose of considering financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. The specific subject matter that may be considered in closed session is: Alderperson Howe read the notice to go into closed session. Moved by Novak, seconded by Lotz, to convene in closed session. The motion carried on roll call vote by the following vote: Aye: 4 - Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz. Nays: None. 18-0254 EMS LifeQuest billing dispute for Troy Duckett. The Public Safety Committee deliberated in closed session. (redacted - - Closed Session.) Moved by Czekaka, seconded by Novak, to reconvene in open session. Motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4 - Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz. Nay: None. 8. Reconvene into Open Session 18-0254 EMS LifeQuest billing dispute for Troy Duckett. Moved by Czekala, seconded by Novak, that this Request be denied and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Howe, Czekala, Novak and Lotz 9.
