Call to Order 2. Roll Call Present: 5- Kaderabek, Boldt, Beeman, Cummings and Vanderkin 3. Public Comment No Public Comment 4. Consent Agenda These items will be approved by one motion unless any Committee Member wishes to remove an item for discussion. REMOVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS: None. Discussion and Action Items 23-0970 Request for a crosswalk in front of Burger Boat on Spring Street. Attachments: 01-04-2024 Email Conversation Ped Crossing on Spring Street - Burger Boat 20231113093010750 At this time Burger Boat is no longer interested in installing a crosswalk at their Spring Street location due to the quoted amount being higher than anticipated. Moved by Vanderkin, seconded by Kaderabek, that this Action Item be placed on file. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Kaderabek, Boldt, Beeman, Cummings and Vanderkin 24-1120 Sex Offender Residency Board Appeal for Gerard Geraths. Attorney Richard Hahn was present to represent Gerard Geraths with his residency appeal. Chief Reimer's recommendation is to approve the residency appeal. Moved by Vanderkin, seconded by Boldt, that this Action Item be approved and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Kaderabek, Boldt, Beeman, Cummings and Vanderkin 24-1121 Ordinance to amend Chapter 31 of the MMC regulating Signs. Attachments: ORD TO REVISE CHAPTER 31 REGULATING SIGNS Moved by Vanderkin, seconded by Kaderabek, that this Ordinance be approved and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Kaderabek, Boldt, Beeman, Cummings and Vanderkin City of Manitowoc Page 2 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes January 8, 2024 24-1126 Ordinance to amend Manitowoc Municipal Code Chapters 6 - Regulating Fire Department and Fire Prevention, Chapter 16 - Building, Heating and Ventilation Code, Chapter 17 - Plumbing Code, and Chapter 18 - Electrical Code Attachments: Memo Regarding Changes to 6 16 17 and 18 ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTERS 6 16 17 AND 18 Moved by Vanderkin, seconded by Boldt, that this Ordinance be approved and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 5- Kaderabek, Boldt, Beeman, Cummings and Vanderkin 6. This meeting is being conducted both in Council Chambers at City Hall and via Zoom to maximize opportunities for residents to attend. Those attending the meeting via Zoom who wish to give public input are asked to keep their microphone muted until public input is opened to improve audio quality for all attendees.
