CALL TO ORDER Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 1200 East Broad Street, with the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting, giving date, place, and subject thereof, having been posted as prescribed by Chapter 551, Texas Government Code. Staff: Art Wright, Planner/HPO Jennifer Johnston, Secretary Commissioners: Absent 2 - Mark Walker and Thomas Leach Present 3 - David Littlefield;Robert Smith and Bob Klenzendorf 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 21-4429 Minutes - Approval of the November 11, 2021 Historic Landmark Commission Meeting Minutes Chairman Smith called for approval of the minutes of the November 11, 2021 meeting. Commissioner Klenzendorf made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Commissioner Hudson seconded the motion which carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- David Littlefield; Robert Smith; Bob Klenzendorf and Allan Hudson Nay: 0 Absent: 3- Amanda Kowalski; Mark Walker and Thomas Leach Abstain: 0 3. CITIZENS COMMENTS None 4. DISCUSSION ITEMS CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Landmark Commission Meeting Minutes - Final December 9, 2021 21-4430 HLC#21-013: Discussion regarding revisions to the Design Guidelines for Historic Mansfield Mr Wright provided a draft for the first chapter of the updated Design Guidelines for Downtown Mansfield. After a brief discussion the Commission directed Mr. Wright make some changes and proceed to updating the next chapters. 5. OTHER AGENDA ITEMS A. Preservation Month Sub-Committee Report and Discussion Vice-Chairman Littlefield stated there is nothing to report at this time. B. Historic Preservation Officers Report Mr. Wright reported on the following preservation items: The final reading on the historic landmark designation for 130 N Main St (Old Post Office) will be on the agenda for the December 13, 2021, City Council meeting. Mansfield is now part of DowntownTX.org, a website that shows available historic properties for sale and and allows the city to keep an inventory of its historic properties. John Patterson, owner of the building at 111 N. Main St., is proposing to rehabilitate the building and restore it to use. Mr. Patterson is interested in possibly seeking a landmark designation for the building. 6. COMMISSION ANNOUNCEMENTS None 7. STAFF ANNOUNCEMENTS None 8.
