CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Mike Leasor at 6:00 p.m. Board Members present: Cindy Gardner, Mike Leasor, James Leggs, Connie McGough, Chris Ohan, and Marty Thomas. City Staff present: Museum Manager Jessica Baber Citizens Present: None 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM AUGUST MEETING Chris made a motion to approve the minutes. Marty seconded the motion. All voted in favor to approve the minutes as written. 3. CITIZENS COMMENTS None 4. MAN HOUSE MUSEUM UPDATE The restoration has been delayed. They are anticipating being finished with the house on October 16. The museum has been asked to set up one room in the house with the items that we have been collecting as a “sneak peek” of the museum. The Landmark dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting has been scheduled for Friday, October 30 at 10AM. Board members should be receiving an evite in the coming days. 5. GHOST TOURS UPDATE The museum is planning virtual ghost tours this year. We will record our storytellers and people can access the videos via QR codes placed around downtown and on a flyer or map of where the events took place. The videos have all been recorded. The tour will be free and will run from October 15-31. 6. BLACK STUDENT ASSOCIATION PROJECT UPDATE Jessica has reached out to the association President, but has not received a response. James suggested contacting their faculty advisor. He gave Jessica the number to call. 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS New Board appointments have been made. Tom Leach, who has been volunteering on the Man House project, has been appointed to fill the seat vacated by Carol. An 8th seat was added by City Council to be held for the President of the Historical Society. Johnny Bratton will be filling that seat. Jessica got a quote for moving and restoring the windmill on Debbie Lane. It will cost $5,800 to do everything including about $1,000 to move it to the Man House.
