CALL TO ORDER-WELCOME NEW MEMBER The meeting was called to order by Marty Thomas at 6:00 p.m. Board Members present: Johnny Bratton, Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, Tom Leach, James Leggs, Connie McGough, Chris Ohan, and Marty Thomas. City Staff present: Museum Manager Jessica Baber Citizens Present: Janae Ediger and Linda Leddy 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM OCTOBER MEETING The word Historical was used instead of Heritage when discussing the Mansfield Heritage Foundation. Cindy made a motion to approve the minutes as amended. Connie seconded and all voted in favor to approve. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. ROLE OF BOARD DISCUSSION Jessica discussed the museum’s Collection, Programs, and Exhibits committees and which board members served on each of the committees. She also handed out volunteer forms to the board members who had not yet filled them out. This allows them to volunteer at museum events without additional paperwork. 5. MAN HOUSE MUSEUM UPDATE The Move-in process has begun and the Grand Opening is scheduled for December 12. Jessica needs to meet with the Program and Exhibit Committee members to make plans for the opening event. An email has been sent to everyone who signed up to be a docent. Training for those who can help at the December 12 event will be in early December. An additional training for everyone will be held in January. 6. BY-LAW AMENDMENT APPROVAL The Board went over the by-law amendments made when City Council added a new member to the Board representing the Historical Society. Additionally, Marty made a motion to amend to the by-laws to hold officer elections in November. Tom seconded and all voted in favor to amend. 7. OFFICER ELECTIONS Marty nominated Cindy to serve as Chair of the Board Marty volunteered to continue to serve as Vice-Chair Connie volunteered to serve as Secretary CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes November 12, 2020 Board As there were no other nominations, Tom made a motion that these nominees be elected, Chris seconded and all voted in favor. 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS $1000 has been raised to move the windmill to the Man House property. The windmill company is busy right now, but they hope their schedule will be opening up in the next few weeks. Historic Preservation Month Committee has begun meeting again. Tom is on that committee and reported that the group has made many tentative plans for next May and beyond. 9.
