CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:02 p.m. Board Members present: Johnny Bratton, Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, Tom Leach, Connie McGough, Chris Ohan and Marty Thomas City Staff present: Museum Manager Jessica Baber and Director of Library Services Yolanda Botello Citizens Present: Linda Leddy 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Marty made a motion to approve the minutes as written, Connie seconded and all voted in favor. 3. CITIZENS' COMMENTS None 4. PRESERVATION PROJECTS UPDATE The windshield survey of the historic district is completed. Cindy found that the surveys can be submitted to the Texas Historical Commission. She will get in touch with Art about this process. 5. MAN HOUSE MUSEUM UPDATE The new education and engagement specialist and museum clerk have been hired. The new clerk is starting August 31 and the educator is starting September 7. The museum staff have finally begun moving into the Information Center. It will be open for Founders’ Day, though there will still be work to get it fully set up once the event is over and the new employees begin. 6. FOUNDERS' DAY DISCUSSION The Founder's Day event is in two days, August 28. All participants have been emailed information about the day. Volunteers are still needed all day tomorrow to help set up. The exterior of the house will be cleaned in the morning, the Information Center needs to be cleaned in the afternoon. The tents are being delivered in the afternoon from the rental company as are the chairs and tables from the Parks Department. Vendors can start setting up at 7:30 am on Saturday and we need volunteers that morning to assist with the setup. 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes August 26, 2021 Board Marty let everyone know that there will be a cemetery cleanup day on September 11. Also, on that day there is going to be an event downtown. Coffey Anderson will be performing. Chris let everyone know that the museum will be getting two student interns from Texas Wesleyan’s Public History class. Marty and Chris have been reappointed by City Council. They have changed the Board’s by-laws so that the group only has a seven members again. Cindy, Marty and Annette plan to return to volunteer on the museum’s collection inventory project. 9.
