CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:03 p.m. Board Members present: Johnny Bratton, Cindy Gardner, Connie McGough, Chris Ohan and Marty Thomas Board Members absent: Annette Hamill and Tom Leach City Staff present: Museum Manager Jessica Baber 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM AUGUST MEETING Chris made a motion to approve the minutes as written, Connie seconded and all voted in favor. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. PRESERVATION PROJECTS UPDATE Cindy spoke to Art Wright about adding the survey that was completed by our Board members to the Texas Historical Commission database. She will be working on this project. 5. MAN HOUSE MUSEUM UPDATE The new education and engagement specialist, Amanda Brown, and museum clerk, Sarah Rosselli, have started. They will both be housed at the Man House Museum. The Board discussed the Founders’ Day Festival. The consensus was that the event went well, but needed to be moved to a cooler month. Connie suggested moving it to November for Ralph Man’s birthday. Other issues that were brought up by the board for consideration at future events: no unsupervised Boy scouts working in the house, the barn gets too hot under the overhang to use, the restroom doors locked automatically, the tents were great, but the tent with all the groups was too small, and we need more help packing up at the end of the day. 6. HALLOWEEN AT THE HOUSE PROGRAM DISCUSSION The museum will not have the annual downtown ghost tour event this year. Instead, there will be an event at the Man House Museum. The event will have tours of the house and grounds with “ghosts” stationed throughout the property telling their story. There will be drinks and games in the Information Center. Amanda Kowalski and her family are planning to start doing monthly ghost tours of downtown as a business venture.
