CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:02 PM Board Members present: Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, Tom Leach, Chris Ohan and Marty Thomas City Staff present: Museum Manager, Jessica Baber, Museum Education and Engagement Specialist, Amanda Brown and Director of Library and Historic Services, Yolanda Botello Guests Present: Linda Leddy 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM JUNE 30 MEETING Chris made a motion to approve the minutes as written, Tom, seconded and all voted in favor. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. PROJECT UPDATES a. The Women Aviation exhibit is Oct 3rd through Dec 10th. Jessica is looking for assistance with planning for the exhibit. Particularly, we need information about women who served in the military during WWII and artifacts of things that illustrate what life was like during the war. Jessica was informed that Steele Gibson served. She will reach out to Mike about possible stories and objects he might have. Chris said he would speak to the Archivist at Texas Wesleyan about any information they may have on the aviation production in Fort Worth. Jessica will check the Fort Worth or Tarrant County archives as well. b. The Downtown project is close to being finished. Cindy has a list of houses that needs pictures attached. Art has extended the logins for our volunteers to October. c. Founders Day planning is still ongoing. 90% of the demonstrators that have been contacted are interested in participating. So far we have a potter, storyteller, soap and candle maker, leather worker, music group called Buttermilk Junction and more. Only one food truck has shown interest in participating so far. Food trucks must have proper permits, examples: Tarrant County, TABC and city of Mansfield. Amanda is focusing on finding more trucks to come to the event. d. Jessica was contacted by the Lawson family to invite museum representatives to their family reunion on August 6th. It is an all-day event, but at 2:00 there will be a presentation on their family’s history. The reunion is located in the Tarrant County resource connection building in Fort Worth. Marty, Cindy, Annette and Chris volunteered to attend. CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes July 28, 2022 Board 5. BOARD TERM LIMIT DISCUSSION Yolie presented the City Council’s new term limit policy for all Board and Commission members. The new policy states that members can only serve three two-year terms, six years total. At that point, they will need to be off at least one year before they can be appointed to that Board again. 6. STEPS PROGRAM The Board reviewed and discussed the Audience section, standards 7-12. 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS None 8. ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.
