CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:05 PM Board Members present: Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, and Tom Leach City Staff present: Museum Manager, Jessica Baber and Museum Education and Engagement Specialist, Amanda Brown Citizens present: Linda Leddy, Keith and Lauren McEwan 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM JULY 28 MEETING Tom made a motion to approve the minutes as written. Annette seconded and all were in favor. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. PROJECT UPDATES a. The Aviation Exhibit is a month away. The exhibit will be delivered on Oct 7th. The exhibit will be open on Oct 11th through Dec 10th. Karen is working on women in Mansfield in the military for the MHS newsletter that Jessica can utilize for the exhibit. b. Amanda reported we have crafters, garden club, friends of the library, DAR, Landmark Commission, Historical Society and leather worker, potter, storyteller, soap and candle maker, and music group (Buttermilk Junction) confirmed for Founders Day. We have heard from one food truck. There will be one more Founders Day committee meeting. The Timberview basketball team will help set up for the event. Karen Leach, will give a food preservation presentation. Sept. 13th is house cleaning day at the Man House. Amanda will keep everyone updated. c. Chris and Marty attended the Lawson family reunion. Since neither of them were able to make it to the meeting, we will keep it on the agenda for next month so they can report back about the event. d. The Bridal dress exhibit will run through Sept. 3rd. The exhibit will be dismantled on Sept. 6th. Anyone with a dress on display should come by and pick it up. 5. BOARD TERM LIMIT UPDATE Jessica informed the Board that anyone who was not eligible for reappointment due to the one year waiting period after they had served their three two-year terms could be appointed immediately to another Board or Commission. The waiting period only applies to those seeking appointment to the same Board or Commission they just left due to the new term limit. 6. STEPS PROGRAM The board reviewed, discussed and reviewed INT standards 1 - 3. Pages 87 - 95. CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes August 25, 2022 Board 7. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Rashel is back full swing as of Wed., August 24th! Welcome back Rashel! Cindy Gardener will be out Oct. 10th - Oct. 15th. Cemetery cleanup day is September 10th from 7:45 - 11:00 AM. 8.
