CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:02 PM. Board Members present: Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, and Marty Thomas City Staff present: Museum Manager, Jessica Baber and Museum Education and Engagement Specialist, Amanda Brown 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM AUGUST 25 MEETING Marty made the motion to approve the minutes and Annette seconded, all were in favor 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. PROJECT UPDATES a. Aviation Exhibit will be dropped off October 7th at the museum. Opening date at this time is approximate Oct. 14 – Oct. 30th. October 11th is the setup day for the exhibit. We are still finding information, pictures, etc. b. Founders Day on October 1st is a week away. There will be a lot of demonstrators and 3 food trucks. The Lake Ridge High School Key Club and Timberview High School Honor Society are coming to help volunteer throughout the day, including setup and tear down. c. Marty Thomas and Chris Ohan attended the Lawson family reunion. They were unable to hear the family history presentation due to timing issues, but they spoke to several members of the family about the museum as well as their family history. They stated it was a very positive experience. d. There will be a quilt exhibit after the Aviation exhibit. It will tentatively run from December 2022 through the end of March 2023. Debbie Rake, the quilt historian may have another quilt day program in the near future. e. The Mansfield Parks Department will have a Jane Austin day event, December 17th at 10:00 am at the Man House. 5. ETHICS POLICY Jessica has put a draft together of an Ethics Policy and wants everyone to read it and discuss at the October meeting. 6. STEPS PROGRAM The board discussed and reviewed the Interpretation section standards 5-9. Pages 96-104.
