CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Cindy Gardner at 6:05 PM. Board Members present: Jandel Crutchfield, Cindy Gardner, Annette Hamill, Marty Thomas, Chris Ohan and Tom Leach City Staff present: Museum Manager, Jessica Baber and Museum Education and Engagement Specialist, Amanda Brown 2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 22 MEETING Annette made the motion to approve the minutes, Chris seconded and all voted in favor. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS None 4. OFFICER ELECTIONS Officer elections took place by secret ballot. There was one nominee for each position and all were elected unanimously. Next year’s officers will be Cindy Gardner – Chair, Marty Thomas – Vice-Chair, and Annette Hamill – Secretary. 5. PROJECT UPDATES a. The Aviation exhibit is on display at the museum now through November 30th. The Veterans Day parade is Saturday November 5th and it was suggested that the museum have a sign outside advertising the exhibit. b. Halloween at the Man House- Because of the weather, all stories will be told under cover, including moving some indoors. A ping pong toss, and a bean bag toss will be held in the information center. If the weather is too bad, the event may need to be canceled. c. Quilt Exhibit-A quilt exhibit will be on display after the Aviation exhibit. It will run from the end of December 2022 through the end of March 2023. Debbie Rake will come and do a program on historic quilts, date to be announced. The museum will need help setting up the exhibit. d. By-Law Amendment-The board members had a group discussion on amendments made to the By-Laws made necessary by decisions by the City Council. Chris made a motion to approve and Marty seconded. The motion carried unanimously. 6. ETHICS POLICY Board members read through the museum’s newly drafted Code of Ethics. Chris made a motion to approve the policy and Marty seconded. The motion carried unanimously. 7. STEPS PROGRAM CITY OF MANSFIELD Page 1 Historic Preservation Advisory Meeting Minutes October 27, 2022 Board The board discussed and reviewed the Interpretation section, standards 10-14, pages 105-114. 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Discussed Tony Seery driving a car for the Pickle Parade with signs that display the Preservation Board exists. The museum is in the process of hiring a museum clerk. It would be a total of 26 hours and every Saturday. Cindy brought to our attention that our normal meeting day would fall on Thanksgiving Day. November’s meeting day will be December 1st and the December meeting will be cancelled due to Christmas. 9. ADJOURN The meeting was adjourned at 7:53 PM.
