MEMORANDUM TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER KRISTIN GRASSETH RE: CONSENT AGENDA FOR DECEMBER 9, 2020 COUNCIL MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 30, 2020 RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt the Consent Agenda. BACKGROUND INFORMATION On the Consent Agenda are routine and presumably non-controversial business items that can be adopted by a single motion as recommended above. If the Mayor or any Councilor or a member of the audience wishes to remove an item from the Consent Agenda, it should be discussed individually on the regular agenda. Any item so removed from the Consent Agenda should be discussed after consideration of the Consent Agenda. By adopting the Consent Agenda, you will be approving the following motions: A. Motion to approve the minutes of the City Council Meeting of November 4, 2020 and the COVID-19 Special City Council Workshop of October 16, 2020, October 23, 2020, October 30, 2020, and November 6, 2020. B. Motion to approve payment of bills and all subsequent bills subject to approval by the Mayor or Council President and City Manager. C. Motion to accept the canvass of votes for the November 3, 2020 General Election and to declare that Mike Scott has been elected to a two year term as Mayor, Hans Tonjes and Jerry Spegman all have been elected to four year terms as City Councilors. State election law requires that the governing body formally accept the results of an election and declare who won the election. Unless there is some unexpected controversy, this is a routine action. The Mayor and newly elected Councilors will take their oaths of office for the new terms at the January Council meeting. D.
