MAPLE GROVE ARBOR SUBCOMMITTEE SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES INSPECTIONS CONFERENCE ROOM November 23rd, 2021 - 10:00 AM Call to Order The special meeting of the Arbor Subcommittee was called to order by Member Sarah Piket at 10:05 a.m. Members Present Don Varney Members Absent Marilyn Arnlund Also Present None Approval of Agenda and Sarah Piket suggested a discussion regarding Minutes subcommittee status, time constraints of subcommittee members, and the best path forward. Don Varney made a motion to approve the updated agenda of the November 23rd meeting. The motion was seconded by Sarah Piket and passed unanimously on a voice vote. Sarah Piket made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 7th meeting. The motion was seconded by Don Varney and passed unanimously on a voice vote. Old Business Site Visits There was a small amount of discussion regarding our site visits over the last 3 meetings and our overall impressions of the tree health. A deep debrief did not occur as not all the Subcommittee members were present New Business Meeting schedule for Identification of future meeting dates put on hold December & January based on status discussion Subcommittee status Over the past 3 years the subcommittee has amassed a large amount of reference and technical documentation, insight from various subject matter experts, and evidence of poor tree health across the city. However due to a variety of circumstances it is becoming increasingly difficult for the members to dedicate time to formulate recommended ordinance changes out of the information. They discussed a few go forward options, including reaching out to the broader Arbor Committee or assistance in the effort. Don Varney is going to reach out to the Arbor Committee Chair (Mary Parenteau) to discuss the Arbor Subcommittee Meeting Minutes November 23, 2021 Page 2 options. Next Meeting January 3rd, 2022 Adjournment Sarah Piket moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Don Varney and passed unanimously on a voice vote.
