Maple Grove Closed City Council Special Meeting Meeting Minutes June 21, 2021 Call to Order Pursuant to call and notice thereof, a Closed Special Meeting of the Maple Grove City Council was held at 8: 59 p. m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Maple Grove Government Center/ Public Safety Facility, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Present were Mayor Steffenson and Councilmembers Jaeger, Leith, Hanson and Barnett. Also attending was City Administrator Heidi Nelson, Parks and Recreation Director Chuck Stifter, Finance Director Greg Sticha, Senior Municipal Advisor at Ehlers, Inc. Stacie Kvilvang, and City Attorney Scott Landsman. Mayor Steffenson called the meeting to order at 8: 59 p. m. Mayor opened the meeting and asked Mr. Landsman to address the Council. Closed Session Mr. Landsman stated the City Council has the ability to go into closed session to Discuss pursuant to Minn. Statute § 13D. 05, subd. 3( c) ( 3) when closure is permitted by the Draft Letter of attorney/ client privilege. He recommended and requested that the city make a motion to close the meeting pursuant to Minn. Statute § 13D. 05, subd. 3( c) ( 3) to Intent for the develop and consider the terms of an offer to purchase the LifeTime Fitness Acquisition of building. Mr. Landsman advised that the discussion be strictly limited to said the Lifetime subject, that the meeting is being recorded, and the recording will be retained for Fitness eight ( 8) years per state statute and will become public data after the transaction under consideration is completed or abandoned. He then requested everyone Building present state their name for the purpose of making their voices more identifiable to anyone listening to the recording at a later date. Those present are listed above. Mr. Landsman requested that the Council meet in closed session and that a motion be made to go into closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 13D. 05, subd. 3( c) ( 3). Motion by Mayor Steffenson to go into closed session, seconded by Councilmember Leith. Council adjourned to closed session pursuant to Minn. Stat. 13D. 05, subd. 3( c) ( 3). Adjournment Motion by Mayor Steffenson, seconded by Councilmember Leith, to adjourn to the City Council meeting of August 2, 2021. Upon call of the motion by Mayor Steffenson, there were five ayes and no nays. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 9: 47 p.m. by Mayor Steffenson.
