Discussion Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee Presentation regarding Mackle Park Community Building a. Mackle Park Community Center Building Replacement City Council and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee met in a Special-Called Joint Workshop to discuss the Mackle Park Community Center Building Replacement Project. Dr. Gerald Swiacki opened the meeting with a statement comprising activities of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee and their recommendations for a new community center at Mackle Park. Following a lengthy discussion, Council announced that the Mackle Park Community Center Building Replacement Project has been scheduled as an agenda item for the City Council Meeting at 5:30 p.m., following the City Council and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee Special-Called Joint Workshop, at which time further discussion and action will be taken regarding the project. Public Comment Mr. Bruce Grave, of 467 Nassau Court, speaking on behalf of CAMIG (Cultural Alliance of Marco Island and Goodland), stated that a larger facility is needed at Mackle Park, but that the City should not invest money to compete with other community organizations. Mr. Bill Flasche, 1085 Bald Eagle Drive, expected to hear how and when the building would be started, not debated. Draft Resolution - Approval of Mackle Park Community Center Building Replacement Scheduled as an agenda item for discussion at the City Council Meeting of Janury 20, 2015 at 5:30 p.m., following the City Council and Parks and Recreaton Advisory Committee Special-Called Joint Workshop. c. Annual Street and Roadway Resurfacing Program Public Works Director Tim Pinter provided background information and answered Council’s questions regarding the Annual Street and Roadway Resurfacing Program and the proposed Hydrologic Study of Goodland SR-92. Mr. Nick Casalanguida, Growth Management Division Administrator for Collier County conveyed that the Board of Collier County Commissioners would like to partner with the City of Marco Island on the Hydrologic Study of Goodland SR-92 and would like to escrow all funds set aside for their portion of the road project and ask the City of Marco Island to do the same. Council reached a consensus to move forward with the first phase of the Hydrologic Study of Goodland Road (SR-92) and to proceed with the Annual Street and Roadway Resurfacing Program. 5.
