Gabriel City Clerk: Laura Litzan City Council Meeting Minutes - Final September 17, 2018 1. Call to Order Chair Grifoni called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. 2. Roll Call Present: 5- Councilor Brown, Councilor Reed, Vice-Chair Roman, Chair Grifoni and Councilor Honig Absent: 2- Councilor Batte and Councilor Rios Also Present Guillermo Polanco, Interim City Manager Alan Gabriel, City Attorney Lisa Smith, Recording Specialist Certified Court Reporter 3. Business - City of Marco Island vs. Department of Environmental Protection ID 18-495 City of Marco Island - Notice of Attorney-Client Session Chair Grifoni announced The Marco Island City Council and City Attorney will meet in a "closed" attorney-client session. The subject matter of the meeting shall be settlement negotiations and strategy related to the litigation matter styled: CITY OF MARCO ISLAND vs. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION DEP FILE NO. 0158164-004-EM OGC CASE NO.:17-0862. Pursuant to FL Statutes 286.011(8)(a), the attendees will be Chair Grifoni, Vice-Chair Roman, Councilors Batte, Honig, Reed, and Rios. City Clerk Laura Litzan and City Attorney Alan Gabriel. The Special Meeting of the City Council will be recessed for this session. These officials shall meet in private for approximately thirty (30) minutes. At the conclusion of the attorney-client session, the Special City Council meeting will be reconvened. This meeting will be attended and recorded by a certified court reporter. The transcripts shall be made part of the public record upon conclusion of the litigation. (THE MEETING WENT INTO RECESS AT 4:31 P.M. IT IS NOTED FOR THE RECORD THE SAME COUNCILORS WERE PRESENT WHEN THE MEETING RECONVENED AT 5:11 P.M.) It is noted for the record, Councilor Rios joined the closed attorney-client session at 4:56 P.M. Upon conclusion of the “closed” attorney-client session, Chair Grifoni reopened the public meeting and announced that the attorney-client session was terminated and members of the general public are now invited to return to participate in the regular meeting. 4.
