Roll Call Present: 6- Councilor Blonna, Councilor Brechnitz, Vice-Chair Grifoni, Councilor Irwin, Councilor Rola and Chair Folley Not Present: 1- Councilor Palumbo (Note: Councilor Irwin participated in the Workshop via Zoom teleconference connection. Business - Operating Budget Workshop ID 23-2950 City of Marco Island Operating Budget Workshop City Finance Director Polanco opened the meeting by reviewing several summary analyses looking back and projecting forward to assist the Council in assessing the requests that were to be brought forward by the City department leaders attending the Workshop. The following City Staff leaders, in turn, presented to the Council their proposed Operating Budget requests and responded to questions from members of the Council. City Manager McNees and Finance Director Polanco provided additional support and explanation as required. 1) Legal, Executive, and Legislative - Assistant City Manager Casey Lucius 2) Finance - City Finance Director Guillermo Polanco 3) General Government - City Clerk Joan Taylor 4) Information Technology - Information Technology Director Jose Duran City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 City Council Meeting Minutes - Final July 24, 2023 5) Fleet & Facilities - Fleet & Facilities Manager Miguel Carballo 6) Police and Code Compliance - Police Chief Tracy Frazzano 7) Fire Rescue - Fire Rescue Chief Chris Byrne 8) Public Works - Public Works Director Justin Martin 9) Growth Management & Parks & Recreation - Community Affairs Director Daniel Smith 10) Building Services - Chief Building Official Raul Perez 11) Water & Sewer - Water & Sewer General Manager Jeff Poteet Post-Workshop Action Items 1) Chair Folley requested that the City Staff draft a petition to the Collier County Board of County Commissioners expressing the City of Marco Island's support for renewal of the temporary 1% County Sales Tax levy, and; 2) City Manager McNees was asked to confirm an August, 2023 Workshop date for the Council to discuss and prioritize several unfunded capital projects that were initially identified during the Council's June 19, 2023 Capital Budget Workshop. 4. Public Comment No members of the public came forward to offer comment. 5.
