(2) ROLL CALL Present: 8- Member Delawder, Member Delawder, Chair Freeman, Chair Freeman, Member Fernstrum, Member Fernstrum, Member Zinkan and Member Zinkan Absent: 2- Vice-Chair Barto and Vice-Chair Barto (3) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA MOTION by Member Zinkan, seconded by Member Fernstrum, to approve the Agenda. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Member Delawder, Chair Freeman, Member Fernstrum and Member Zinkan Not Present: 1- Vice-Chair Barto (4) APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES ID 19-231 March 19, 2019 Hideaway Beach Tax District Meeting Minutes MOTION by Member Fernstrum, seconded by Member Delawder, to approve the March 19, 2019 Hideaway Beach Tax District Meeting Minutes. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Member Delawder, Chair Freeman, Member Fernstrum and Member Zinkan Not Present: 1- Vice-Chair Barto (5) COMMUNICATIONS a. Discussion - Tigertail Usage City of Marco Island Florida Page 1 Hideaway Beach Tax District Board Meeting Minutes - Final May 2, 2019 Chair Freeman held a discussion on data received from Collier County Park Ranger Service Supervisor Jack Sullivan pertaining to the traffic counts for the past two (2) years and current through March 2019, at Tigertail Beach Park. It was determined Chair Freeman will forward this information to Collier County Commissioner Donna Fiala. Following discussions, it was determined by consensus to invite Commissioner Fiala and Collier County Parks Director Barry Williams to their November meeting and have Mohamed Dabees provide his presentation. The Friends of Tigertail will be invited and it was determined to involve City Council at a later date. ID 19-260 Statistics (6) REPORTS a. Revenue and Expense Report ID 19-266 April 2019 Financials MOTION by Member Fernstrum, seconded by Member Zinkan, to approve the financials as presented. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Member Delawder, Chair Freeman, Member Fernstrum and Member Zinkan Not Present: 1- Vice-Chair Barto b. Recommendation of New Millage Rate The Board Members engaged in discussion regarding the millage rate. It was suggested lowering the millage rate by 25% to 50% and still have enough funds in the bank to get projects completed. The Board Members would like to keep a million dollars in reserves. MOTION by Member Delawder, seconded by Member Fernstrum, to set the Hideaway Beach Millage Rate at 1.0 mils. MOTION CARRIED BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: Yes: 4- Member Delawder, Chair Freeman, Member Fernstrum and Member Zinkan Not Present: 1- Vice-Chair Barto c. Beach Issues - Member Fernstrum Member Fernstrum provided the Board Members an update on the beach. He advised it is in good condition and appears to have been graded by the contractor. He called Chris with Coastal Zone Management to set up a beach grooming schedule and was advised the equipment is in for maintenance. The County will do a trial run and beginning in June, they will groom twice a month. d. Shorebird Monitoring - Nancy Richie This item was deferred. (7) PRESENTATIONS a. Coastal Engineering - Michael Poff ID 19-230 Hideaway Beach Erosion Control Project - Construction Update City of Marco Island Florida Page 2 Hideaway Beach Tax District Board Meeting Minutes - Final May 2, 2019 b. Humiston and Moore - Mohamed Dabees This item was deferred. (8) OLD BUSINESS (9) NEW BUSINESS - None (10) COMMITTEE COMMUNICATIONS The next meeting date is scheduled for November 7, 2019 at 2:00 P.M.
