As discussed at its regular meeting on March 18, 2021, the Committee agreed to come together in a
'Special-Called Meeting' to review, revise and re-prioritize the Committee Chair Crain's 'best practices' list
prior to its presentation at the April 8, 2021 public 'Marco Island Water Quality Workshop' from 5:30 P.M. -
7:30 P.M.
Former Waterways Advisory Committee member Robert Roth was invited to participate in the review and
discussion with the Committee members in attendance, and contribute his experience (with visual
examples) of various tools, techniques and resources that could, in his opinion, be employed by residents
and the City to help reduce the effect of storm water runoff on the quality of the water in and around the
Island.
City Stormwater Engineer Jason Tomassetti contributed in support of the Committee's effort to host and
communicate effectively to the public, and he addressed opportunities to apply tools and technologies at
the City-wide level in its effort to improve water quality.
Councilor Blonna offered perspective on effectively presenting and managing the Committee's
communication of information to the attending public on April 8th.
