Councilman Carter, Councilman Chapman,
Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre, and Mayor Howard
Absent: Councilman Perry and Councilman Ray
Prayer: Mr. Barker
Mayor Howard called Meeting to order
Discussion
Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for November 19, 2019.
Councilman Carter made the Motion to approve minutes for November 19,
2019. Councilman Chapman seconded the Motion. Motion passed with
Mayor Pro-Tem abstaining because he was not present.
Mr. Barker gave his report. Mr. Barker informed the Council that there
are 84 new homes this year plus 2 pending.
David Parrish gave his report. Mr. Parrish informed the Council that there
were 28- Emergency Medical call, 2- Motor Vehicle Accidents, 1-
Hazardous Materials call, and 2- Hazardous Conditions calls with a
total of 33 calls for Margaret Fire Department.
Mr. Parrish also gave the total revenue for the Public Works Department
for November and December. The total revenue for November is
$27,120.41and total revenue for December is $66,969.86. Also, the total
revenue for Water Taps are $5400.00.
Chief Smith gave his report to the Council. Chief Smith also informed the
Council of an accident involving Amberly Click who recently graduated
from Police Academy and her superior Officer Derrick Hudgins which
violated Police Pursuit Policy. Chief Smith informed the Council that there
will be disciplinary actions taken. Mayor and Council feels that the Police
Department needs a new Police vehicle. Chief Smith stated that the Police
Interceptors are not available at this time. The only vehicle available is a
Chevy Tahoe. Chief Smith states that the Tahoe are $34,883.64 without the
Police package. Councilman Chapman stepped away from the table at
6:37PM. Councilman Chapman returns to the Council table at 6:42 PM.
Councilman Carter made the Motion to approve $35,000.00 for a 5.3-liter
V8 Tahoe as a Police Vehicle. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre seconded the
Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Carter made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman Chapman
seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 6:55PM.
