Public Works Committee: Grif Chalfant, Chairperson * 20210572 Speed Detection Radar on City Streets Motion to authorize Marietta Police to seek approval from the State to use radar on designated streets using radar & laser speed detection. 20210368 Lakes of Stonegate Speed Study Motion authorizing Public Works to install four (4) speed tables on Frog Leap Trail, a crosswalk at the community pool, and the designation of a No Parking Zone along one side of the street on Frog Leap Trail. Public Hearing Required * 20210724 Lemon Street Traffic Calming Motion authorizing Public Works to lower and post the speed limit to 25 MPH on Lemon Street from Cherokee Street to Woods Drive in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). * 20210367 Frasier Street Traffic Calming Motion authorizing Public Works to proceed with the Public Information Meeting with the residents on Frasier Street to discuss possible traffic calming options. * 20210725 Donation of Right-of-Way Motion authorizing the Public Works to receive the donation of right-of-way located at Fort Street per the Quitclaim Deed from Copperleaf Partners LLC. City of Marietta Page 4 Printed on 9/8/2021 1:50:21PM CITY COUNCIL Meeting Agenda September 8, 2021 * 20210726 Kennesaw Avenue Utilities - 1GW48102N Motion authorizing a variance from the Underground Utilities ordinance to allow the installation of fiber to be over lashed on existing fiber and requiring the removal of all duplicate utility poles where AT&T is “next to transfer” along Kennesaw Avenue, Nelson Street, Atwood Drive, Talcott Circle, and Keeler Woods Drive. This motion does not grant a perpetual variance. AT&T must relocate underground at their expense if other utilities at these locations are moved underground. Council Member Goldstein discloses that he and Philip M. Goldstein combined own more than $10,000 of stock in AT&T. Philip M. Goldstein is the father of Council Member Goldstein. * 20210719 2021 Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program Grant Application Motion to approve resolution in support of the Rottenwood Creek Trail Phase 1 project for the 2021 Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program funding solicitation of $1,500,000 and commitment of matching funds of 25.1% which is $376,500. OTHER BUSINESS: * 20210787 Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG) Annual Subscription for Supplemental Power 2022 Motion to approve the Board of Lights and Water recommendation to approve the supplemental power supply nomination as presented and to authorize the agreement for the 2022 Annual Subscription with MEAG accordingly. * 20210757 BLW Actions of September 2, 2021 Review and approval of the September 2, 2021 actions and minutes of Marietta Board of Lights and Water.
