Council member Goldstein disclosed that he is an owner of and a general partner for the Herbert S. Goldstein Family Limited Partnership that owns the Earl Strand Theater at 115-119 North Park Square, Marietta GA. The tenant is Friends of the Strand, Inc. Council member Goldstein also owns the property occupied by and leased to Lyric Theater at West Anderson Street. Council member Goldstein abstains on and will not participate on allocation of funds to the above two (2) entities. Council member Goldstein is or has been a member of: Friends of Brumby Hall, Inc., Cobb Landmarks and Historical Society, Inc., Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art, member or participant of Marietta Square Branding Project, Inc; and the Marietta Museum of History. Council member Goldstein disclosed that the New Theatre in the Square [applicant (Actors Theatre of Georgia)] is an occupant/tenant is a building he owns. Georgia Metro Dance Theatre is an occupant/tenant in a building PMG Whitlock, LLC owns. Philip M. Goldstein owns PMG Whitlock, LLC. Council member Walker serves on the Friends of Brumby Hall Board. 20170434 68 North Marietta Parkway Utilities Motion approving variance from the underground utility ordinance, 5-4-160, allowing existing aerial utility service to the existing structure to remain. This motion does not grant a perpetual variance. Utilities must be relocated underground at their expense if other utilities at the location are moved underground. Council member Goldstein disclosed that he owns property on Denmead Street. 20170524 City Wide Public Safety Measures-Public Safety Ambassador Program Motion to authorize the hiring of civilians to participate in a new Public Safety Ambassador program at the Police Department with the consideration of the $600,000 expenditure. City of Marietta Page 2 Printed on 6/9/2017 3:35:28PM CITY COUNCIL AGENDA WORK Meeting Agenda June 12, 2017 SESSION 20170580 City Wide Public Safety Measures-Funding for Additional Street Enhancements/Sidewalks Motion to seek additional funding for Public Works to enhance safety throughout the city for additional street enhancements/sidewalks. 20170572 GMA Voting Delegates Appointment of a voting delegate and the alternate voting delegate for the 2017 GMA Business Meeting being held during the GMA Annual Convention Sunday, June 25, 2017. 20170584 Delay Enforcement of 2 Hour Parking of the Denmead St/Dobbs St City Parking Lot Consider stay of or delay the enforcement of the newly approved 2 Hour Parking of the Denmead St/Dobbs St City parking lot until 12/31/17 or the opening of a new business in the Denmead St. area whichever comes First. This was discussed and requested by directors of DMDA in order to accommodate employees of square area who have used this space without charge for years and who cost of parking would be disproportionate to their income. This would allow for merchants to see if an alternative for this loss of “free” parking primarily used by employees of downtown merchants to seek similar alternative with adequate notice. Decision to remain as 2 Hour Parking to continue with signs remaining, but not until a future date. Requested by Mayor Tumlin Council member Goldstein disclosed that he owns property on Denmead Street. 20170586 Elizabeth Porter Park Construction Budget Discussion on the Elizabeth Porter Park construction budget. 20170569 Draft City Council Agenda Review and approval of the Wednesday, June 14, 2017 DRAFT City Council Agenda. 20170570 Executive Session Executive Session to discuss legal, personnel, and/or real estate matters.
