BUSINESS: 20220909 BLW Report Council Member Andy Morris gives the Board of Lights and Water (BLW) report for the meeting held on Monday, October 10, 2022. 20220921 Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Award Motion to approve an Ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2023 Grant Fund for the Marietta Police Department to receive and appropriate a grant for the Edward Byrne Grant Award from the Department of Justice for $29,237.00 to purchase general equipment. City of Marietta Page 1 Printed on 10/7/2022 3:06:51PM CITY COUNCIL AGENDA WORK Meeting Agenda October 10, 2022 SESSION 20220914 Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant for Wildwood Park Motion adopting a resolution agreeing to the terms of a contract for a state grant between the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the City of Marietta for a grant of financial assistance to develop a disc golf course and other improvements at Wildwood Park and authorize the Mayor to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Marietta, and accept the grant provided for in said contract in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00). 20220773 Dumpster Options for Hansel Street Discussion of the Dumpster Enclosure Location Options for Hansel Street which may lead to the closing of Dobbs Street & Root Street in conjunction with the First Baptist Church. Requested by Council Member Chalfant 20220903 Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) Requesting that the $3 million in Recovery Funds be divided between all (7) Wards - $400K each. Requested by Council Member Andy Morris 20220924 ARPA Available Funds Motion to expend up to $2,000,000.00 for purchase and development in our Parks system for two health driven, family-oriented parks to consider, but not limited to, youth oriented activities, walking, biking, “Pickle ball”, pavilions, skate board parks, and possibly a small splash pad. Limited lighted areas and efforts to put in activities that are not in our other parks. Said funds shall be equally divided between: a.) In the Burnt Hickory and Anderson Road area and b.) the enhanced conversion of the Wallace Road compost area to a Park. Said funds shall be from the unexpended ARPA and the expenditures in compliance with the quality of life enhancement of this Federal Grant. Council Member Goldstein previously disclosed that Marietta Properties, LLC is the owner of the property at 67-87 North Park Square. Philip M. Goldstein is the owner and manager of Marietta Properties, LLC. Philip M. Goldstein is the father of Council Member Goldstein. Council Member Goldstein will not participate in the discussion or vote on this item in his official capacity as a Council Member.
