Review and approval of the March 3, 2014 Marietta Historic Board of Review
Meeting Minutes.
BUSINESS:
20140338 Hidden Treasures – 16 Atlanta Street
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for two signs. The first sign is a
panel replacement in the existing projecting sign cabinet (5’x4’). The second request
is for a new wooden projecting sign (29”x31”) to hang from existing hooks by the
front door, leaving only 6’ of clearance beneath the sign.
20140353 Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art – 30 Atlanta Street
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval to replace all exterior windows
and doors to match existing ones.

20140358 Debbie’s Restaurant & Jazz Lounge – 166 Roswell St
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for a 2” thick HDU projecting
sign (48”x29.6”).
20140340 92 Church Street & 89 Root Street
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval to insert black slat inserts
(metal, aluminum or vinyl) into the existing chain link gate.
20140341 109 Anderson Street
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for a new roof, gutter, coping,
cap etc... and vent replacements. Roof membrane is either a 60-mil Johns Manville
"white" TPO single-ply membrane system with a 20-year NDL warranty or a
fibertite "white" TPO membrane system. Cap (front and rear),coping and gutter
(rear) is dark bronze (from PAC-CLAD Peterson Aluminum PAC-CLAD color
chart), which is similar to what has been used on other buildings downtown in the
past. Vents will be replaced with new vents as needed.
20140342 10-20 Powder Springs Street (16-1218-3-015-0)
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for stucco repair to the north
exterior wall on the second level overlooking the building next door and to repair the
wall using parge coat anchors approximately (4) foot on center (see attached).
Anchors will be decorative stars similar to anchors at 49 West Park Square.
Removal of the old Theatre in the Square sign and to paint the wall beige, the door
beige and the gas line in front of the wall beige.
Paint the fire alarm (to the right of the front doors) bell, drain and fire hose
connection to "Fire Engine" red.
20140360 70 South Park Square
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval in order to repaint door and trim
(58) same color (brown & stucco); repaint walls (already painted) same color;
repaint doors on side (already painted) same color; repaint the alarm bells and fire
connections a “fire engine red;” and paint over graffiti on side wall.

The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval in order to repaint graffiti on
side wall; repaint door and trim same color; repaint walls (front and side already
painted) same color; repaint the alarm bells and fire connections a “fire engine red.”
20140362 44 Mill St
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval in order to repaint over graffiti
on walls (beige paint) and on staircase (black); paint staircase with black paint.
20140241 9 & 11 Whitlock Avenue - Theatre in the Square
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for the removal of the glass
enclosed area and structure approximately above the parapet line. The work and
securing of the remaining frame below the above removed structure. This includes
removal of some areas of stucco, etc… as needed and the repair of same. Painting
the areas to match the rest of the front with the same color paint as on the front now.
Patching the roof with a membrane that is similar to what is existing on the roof.
The placement of a metal bronze cap (as needed) along the front similar to what is
used on the side of Marietta Pizza.
20140244 9 & 11 Whitlock Avenue - Theatre on the Square
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for the relocation of the
marquee sign to flat on the façade of the building, after removal of the marque and
other improvements, and approval of any variances necessary for the relocation.
This includes removal of some areas of stucco, etc…as needed and the repair of
same. Painting the areas to match the rest of the front with the same color as on the
front now.

20140343 9 & 11 Whitlock Ave
The applicant is requesting a Certificate of Approval for the removal of various
portions of the façade improvements that are attached to the front of the building that
are on or over the public right of way as well as some of the façade that is on private
property. Removal of the glass enclosed portion of the triangle above the parapet
wall. Installing a metal cap on the parapet wall in the same color as existing. Possible
lowering of the height of the parapet wall by up to three feet. Stuccoing the façade
where the façade was removed. Painting the façade back the same color as the
existing stucco façade. Relocation of the electronic marquee sign to flat on or within
the façade of the building after removal of the marque and other improvements.
Location directly behind where it is now. Approval of any variance necessary for the
relocation and use of the marque sign. Relocation of any of the showcases for signs
onto the remodeled façade directly behind where they are now.
