20140416 Recreation Building at Custer Park
Discussion of options for renovation and/or expansion of the recreation building
located next to Custer Park.
20140308 Elizabeth Porter Recreation Center
Presentation of revised conceptual plans for the redevelopment of the Elizabeth
Porter Recreation Center area.
20140408 Whitlock Avenue Neighborhood Park
Consideration of the feasibility of collectively 10 Kirkpatrick Dr. (parcel
16122701300, .3177 acres), 20 Kirkpatrick Dr. (parcel 16122701310, .2582
acres) and 30 Kirkpatrick Dr. (parcel 16122701320, .3379 acres) being used as a
1.2 acre park that ties in with the entrance to the Whitlock Ave. residential area,
the new Whitlock Ave. improvement area, and a small residential area
neighborhood park. (Requested by Councilman Chalfant, Councilman Walker,
and Mayor Tumlin)

20140417 FY2015 Tourism Grants
Discussion regarding the submitted grants for the FY2015 City of Marietta
Tourism Grants.
Council member Goldstein disclosed that he is the owner of and a general
manager for the Herbert S. Goldstein Family Limited Partnership that owns the
Earl Smith Strand Theater at 115-119 North Park Square, Marietta GA. The
tenant is Friends of the Strand, Inc. Additionally, the Atlantic Lyric Theater,
Inc., has leased props from Philip Goldstein and has had conversations about
leasing property from him. Council member Goldstein also owns the properties
now occupied by the Young Actor’s Playhouse (formerly occupied by Theatre
in the Square, Inc.) Council member Goldstein abstains on and will not
participate on allocation of funds to the above entities or entities that lease the
above properties.
Council member Goldstein is or has been a member of: Friends of Brumby Hall,
Inc., Cobb Landmarks and Historical Society, Inc., Marietta-Cobb Museum of
Art; and the Marietta Museum of History.
Mayor Tumlin has served as a director, but is currently not serving, of the
following organizations being considered for sponsorships: Marietta-Cobb
Museum of Art; Marietta Museum of History, Inc.; and Friends of the Strand,
Inc. Additionally, Mayor Tumlin has provided legal services to Friends of the
Strand, Inc. and accounting services to Marietta Museum of History, Inc.
Mayor Tumlin has been/is a Member of Brumby Hall, Inc. and Cobb Landmarks
& Historical Society.
20140437 Community Center and expansion of Lewis Park
Motion to convert and rehab historic Water Works building and adjacent
Property Maintenance Buildings and property into a Community Center and
expansion of Lewis Park with move of this operational City facility to a more
suitable location not within a residential neighborhood. See attached two
photos as to 1910 Water Works Building. (Requested by Councilman Morris
and Mayor Tumlin)
