MARINETTE CIVIC AFFAIRS, CEMETERY, TRAFFIC & LIGHTS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES FROM 10/16/23 1. 6th Ward Alderperson Debbie Klegin, Committee Chairperson, called the Civic Affairs, Cemetery, Traffic and Lights Committee regular meeting to order at 04:33 PM in the Marinette Council Chambers, 1905 Hall Ave, Marinette WI. 2. Upon a call of the roll, the following Committee members attendance was recorded as follows: MEMBERS PRESENT: Alderpersons Klegin, Karban, Oitzinger and Kowalski. ABSENT: Alderperson Keller OTHERS PRESENT: City Engineer/Public Works Director Miller, Police Chief LaCombe, Fire Chief Heckel, Alderperson Mikutowski & Wolfe, Erin Noha & Melissa Ebsch. 3. Approving Civic Affairs, Cemetery, Traffic & Lights Committee prior month meeting minutes. Alderpersons Kowalski moved/Oitzinger seconded and all concurred, to approve, as presented, the Civic Affairs, Cemetery, Traffic & Lights Committee regular meeting minutes from 8/21/2023. 4. Discussion and recommendation to the Common Council request from Lori Shehow to sell back Crypt #108 Level F for the purchase price of $4,314.00. Alderperson Oitzinger moved/ Kowalski seconded and all concurred to recommend the Common Council approve the request from Lori Shehow to sell back Crypt #108 Level F for the purchase price of $4,314.00. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding request to sell back two (2) Forest Home Cemetery Grave spaces, Section E, Block 56 Lot 1, Graves 5 & 7 for the purchase price of $720.00. Alderperson Karban moved/ Kowalski seconded and all concurred to recommend the Common Council approve the request from Justin Holm to sell back two (2) Forest Home Cemetery Grave spaces, Section E, Block 56 Lot 1, Graves 5 & 7 for the purchase price of $720.00. 6. Discussion regarding street light at 1129 Edwin Street. Alderperson Klegin received video footage of the light and concurs the light is bright and stated the intent is to look at the light after construction on Edwin Street is complete. The committee discussed safety concerns. Chairperson Klegin stated the item will be on November’s agenda. The committee asked City Engineer/Director of Public Works Miller discuss with WPS and see if the light can be temporarily shut off. No action was taken on the agenda item. 7. Adjournment – Alderpersons Kowalski moved/Karban seconded and all concurred to adjourn at 4:51 PM. Note: A quorum of the Common Council may be present. 1. Call the meeting to order. 2. Roll Call. 3. Approve minutes of August 21, 2023 regular meeting. (see attached). 4. Discussion and possible action regarding request from Lori Shehow to sell back Crypt #108 Level F for the purchase price of $4,314.00. 5.
