Mayor Vigeant provided the City Council with an update on COVID-19 and city events. Motion by Councilor Irish, seconded by the Chair to adopt the following: ORDERED: Under authority of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A, the City Council hereby APPROVES the Gift Acceptance to the Council on Aging/Senior Center in the amount of $79.00 from Nora and Josephine Thomas to be used for programming during the holiday season; adopted. Motion by Councilor Irish, seconded by the Chair to adopt the following: ORDERED: Under authority of MGL Chapter 44, Section 53A, the City Council hereby APPROVES the Grant Acceptance in the amount of $9,500.00 from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) the annual EMPG grant awarded to the Fire Department to be used for the purchase of various equipment; adopted. Motion by Councilor Irish, seconded by the Chair to adopt the following: ORDERED: That the Amended Transfer Request in the amount of $5,092,666.66 from Undesignated Fund to Land Acquisition to fund the proposed purchase of land at 100 Locke Drive for a new Fire Station, referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE; adopted.
