Village of Marquette Green Lake County, Wisconsin Regular Meeting Minutes, September 11, 2023 Call to Order The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call Roll Call: President-Art Cybul-present Clerk-Susan Geraldi-present Trustee-Peter Michalos-present Treasurer- Paula Gilbertson-present Trustee-Tony Deiss-absent There were 3 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places- Village Hall, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website A motion to approve the agenda was made. Cybul/Michalos. Motion passed. 2 yes, 1 absent. Approval of Minutes sent to Board members President Cybul opened for any questions regarding the meeting minutes, with none raised he requested a motion for approval. A motion to approve the meeting minutes was made by Michalos, and seconded by Cybul. The motion to approve the meeting minutes was approved by Cybul/Michalos, (2 Yes, 1 Absent) Reading and Approval of Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report as read, Cybul//Michalos. Motion passed. (2 Yes, 1 Absent) Approve Payment of Bills Approve payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9753-9775 in the amount of $22,492.19 plus the $3,700.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for the Grand total of $26,192.09. Motion to pay the bills aa presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $25,200.00 to the General Fund. The motion to approve the bills, Cybul/ Michalos, Motion passed. (2 Yes, 1 Absent) Citizen Comments - Time Limits Several citizen comments were discussed, including the condition of a sign on KK which appears to be falling, the need for a dead-end sign, and the condition of the village signs. The members discussed possible solutions such as contacting the company which makes the signs and considering ordering new signs. The speakers also discussed updating the population number on the village's sign from 151 to 170, based on the latest reading from the state of Wisconsin. A motion was made by President Cybul and seconded by Michalos to set the trick or treat date for the 29th between two and four. Cybul/Michalos, Motion passed. (2 Yes, 1 Absent) Discuss/Approve: The date was set for Trick or Treating on Sunday, October 29 th, 2023, between the hours of 2pm-4pm. Motion to approve, Cybul/Michalos, Motion passed. (2 Yes, 1 Absent) President Cybul is gathering bids for a new Appraisal Service due to Gardiner Appraisal Service; LLC is retiring. The date for the budget meeting was set on October 24 th at 6 p/m. The motion was unanimously agreed on meeting on October 24th at 6:00 PM. Board Reminders / Updates Various updates were shared, including an upcoming meeting with a deputy patrolling the area, a pending follow-up call with John Blazel regarding ordinance violations, and status updates on several neighborhood properties.
