Village of Marquette Green Lake County, Wisconsin Regular Meeting Minutes, February 12, 2024 Call to Order The regular meeting of the Village Board, for the Village of Marquette, was called to order by President Cybul at 7:00 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll Call Roll Call: President-Art Cybul-present Clerk-Susan Geraldi-present Trustee-Peter Michalos-present Treasurer- Paula Gilbertson-present Trustee-Tony Deiss-present There were 3 citizens in attendance. Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings Law Certification of Compliance with the Open Meetings law: Agenda notice was posted in three public places-Village Hall, kiosks at the Post Office and Truck Garage, also posted on the Village Website. Approve Agenda A motion to approve the agenda was made. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (unanimous) Approval of Regular Minutes sent to Board members A motion to approve the minutes from the January meeting was made. Deiss/Michalos Motion passed. (Unanimous) Reading and Approval of Treasurer’s Report The Treasurer’s report was read. Motion to approve the Treasurer’s report was made. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (unanimous) Approve Payment of Bills Approve payment of Bills: Presented for payment were vouchers 9857-9877 in the amount of $1463.25 plus the $4,500.00 for the maintained balance and utilities for the Grand total of $5,500.00 Motion to pay the bills aa presented and transfer from the appropriate accounts the amount of $5,500.00 to the General Fund. The motion to approve the bills, Michalos/ Deiss, Motion passed. (unanimous) Citizen Comments - Time Limits There were comments made by a citizen if the village received a bill for the fire extinguishers inspections and if the Historical Society was included. Historical Society will receive a separate bill. Discuss/Approve Board Reminders / Updates Lawn Mowing Update: The decision was made to place an ad for bids in the newspaper advertisement this month and the aim is to select a service provider by the next month meeting. Pier Planning: The discussion on pier planning focused on repair and maintenance aspects, as well as consideration for cleaning and upkeep. Flag Update: The flag update concern centered on the need to replace flags, ascertain inventory, and discussed possible sources for new flags, including through coordination with the American Legion with the Wreaths across America project. Tax Update: There was a lengthy discussion on delinquent taxes, the impact on garbage collection, and possible actions regarding delinquent tax payers. No decision was made, but there was an agreement to investigate the issue further. Board Reminders/Updates Throughout the meeting, additional subjects such as local infrastructure planning, ARPA meetings, and possible participation in shared revenue programs in ad-hoc discussions. The board brought up various updates including Adjourn Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. Michalos/Deiss. Motion passed. (unanimous)
