Tuesday, April 23, 2019
The reconvene of the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization for the City of Marshall was held April 23, 2019 in
the Professional Development Room at the Marshall Middle School, 401 South Saratoga Street. The meeting
was called to order at 5:00P.M. by Mayor Robert Byrnes. In addition to Byrnes the following members were in
attendance: Craig Schafer, Glenn Bayerkohler John DeCramer, Russ Labat and James Lozinski. Absent: Steven
Meister. Staff present included: Sharon Hanson, City Administrator; Dennis Simpson, City Attorney; Sheila
Dubs, Human Resource Manager; Dave Parsons, City Assessor and Kyle Box, City Clerk.
Reconvene of the 2019 Local Board of Appeal and Equalization Hearing.
Mayor Byrnes introduced City Assessor Dave Parsons to continue the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization
Hearing. Assessor Parsons provided the following recommendations to the Board.
27-148011-01 - Frances & Janice Remerowski (400 Genesis Ave)
Motion made by Councilmember Labat, Seconded by Councilmember DeCramer to approve the
recommendation to decrease the 2019 proposed Estimated Market Value from $218,900 to $203,700 for 27-
148011-01 located at 400 Genesis Ave. Voting Yea: Mayor Byrnes, Councilmember Schafer, Councilmember
Bayerkohler, Councilmember Decramer, Councilmember Labat, Councilmember Lozinski. The motion Carried.

27-145023-0 - Frances & Janice Remerowski (609 Cadillac Rd)
Motion made by Councilmember DeCramer, Seconded by Councilmember Labat to affirm the 2019 proposed
Estimated Market Value of $41,300 for parcel 27-145023-0 located at 609 Cadillac Rd. Voting Yea: Mayor
Byrnes, Councilmember Schafer, Councilmember Bayerkohler, Councilmember Decramer, Councilmember
Labat, Councilmember Lozinski. The motion Carried. 6-0
27-145024-0 - Frances & Janice Remerowski (609 Cadillac Rd)
Motion made by Councilmember Schafer, Seconded by Councilmember Labat to decrease the 2019 proposed
Estimated Market Value from $412,700 to 391,100 for parcel 27-145024-0 located at 609 Cadillac Rd. Voting
Yea: Mayor Byrnes, Councilmember Schafer, Councilmember Bayerkohler, Councilmember Decramer,
Councilmember Labat, Councilmember Lozinski. The motion Carried. 6-0
27-145025-0 Frances & Janice Remerowski (609 Cadillac Rd)
Motion made by Councilmember DeCramer, Seconded by Councilmember Labat to affirm the 2019 proposed
Estimated Market Value of $43,000 for parcel 27-145025-0 located at 609 Cadillac Rd. Voting Yea: Mayor
Byrnes, Councilmember Schafer, Councilmember Bayerkohler, Councilmember Decramer, Councilmember
Labat, Councilmember Lozinski. The motion Carried. 6-0
27-605004-0 Rahi Hotel Management LLC (1106 Main St. E)
Motion made by Councilmember Schafer, Seconded by Councilmember Lozinski to make no changes to the
2019 proposed Estimated Market Value of $1,064,300 for parcel number 27-605004-0 located at 1106 Main
St. E to allow time for review with the owner. A recommendation will be brought forth to the Lyon County
Board of Appeal on June 18, 2019. Voting Yea: Mayor Byrnes, Councilmember Schafer, Councilmember
Bayerkohler, Councilmember Decramer, Councilmember Labat, Councilmember Lozinski. The motion Carried.
