PUBLIC WORKS MEETING MINUTES
March 12, 2024 at 6:10 PM
303 Mansion Street Mauston, WI
1. The Public Works Committee met in a regular session on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Rick Noe called
the meeting to order at 6:10 pm. Members present were Donna McGinley, Jim Allaby, and Rick Noe.
Also present were Mayor Dennis Nielsen, City Administrator Daron Haugh, Director of Public Works
Rob Nelson, and Deputy Clerk Nicole Lyddy.
2. Minutes- Motion made by Allaby, Seconded by McGinley to approve minutes of February 13,
2024. Motion carried.
3. Payment application #6 from Gerke Excavating -. Motion made by McGinley, Seconded by
Allaby to recommend to the council to approve payment #6 to Greke Excavating of $69,793.40 for
the Ensch Street project. Motion carried.
4. 2024 Street Repair bids
a. Fahrner's bid wasn't complete.
b. Motion made by Allaby and seconded by Noe to recommend to the council to approve Scott
Construction's bid of $104,663.79. Motion carried.
5. Century Traffic epoxy markings bid-. Motion made by McGinley, Seconded by Noe to recommend
to the council to approve bid of $111,650.00. Motion carried.
6. Public Works Director Report- Nelson said that manhole repairs are being done. The wastewater
project's tentative start date is in August.
Noe also expressed gratitude for Nelson and his team's efforts in clearing the garbage accumulated
on the interstate on/off ramps, as it presents a poor image for visitors entering the city.
7. Adjourn- Motion made by Allaby, Seconded by Noe to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 6:18 pm.
