COMMITTEE MINUTES
July 09, 2024 at 6:00 PM
303 Mansion Street Mauston, WI
1. Call to Order/Roll Call- The Ordinances, Licenses, and Permits Committee met in a regular
session on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Jim Allaby called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Members
present were Courtney Ferguson, Jim Allaby, and Leanna Hagen. Also present were Mayor Darryl
Teske, City Administrator Daron Haugh, and Deputy Clerk Nicole Lyddy.
2. Minutes- Motion made by Ferguson, Seconded by Hagen to approve the June 25, 2024
minutes. Motion carried.
3. Discussion on the Vicious Animal Ordinance draft- The draft was reviewed and there was a
discussion about adding a list of prohibited animals to the ordinance.
4. Closed Session- Motion made by Ferguson, Seconded by Hagen Motion to go into closed session
pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(b) regarding the Operator license of Tanya Mendez.
The motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote at 6:08 pm.
5. Reconvene in Open Session- Motion made by Allaby, Seconded by Ferguson to move into open
session. Motion carried.
6. Discussion and recommendation as a Result of Closed Session Matters- Motion made by
Allaby, Seconded by Ferguson to recommend to the council to extend the provisional license until
July 31, 2024, to allow Ms. Mendez to become current with her past due bill to the City of $100
under the ordinance. Motion carried.
7. Adjourn- Motion made by Hagen, Seconded by Ferguson to adjourn. Motion carried. The meeting
adjourned at 7:48 pm

a. Draft of a Vicious Animal Ordinance
4. Closed Session- Pursuant to Wisconsin State Statute 19.85(1)(b) Considering dismissal,
demotion, licensing, or discipline of any public employee or person licensed by a board or
commission or the investigation of charges against such person, or considering the grant or denial
of tenure for a university faculty member, and the taking of formal action on any such matter;
provided that the faculty member or other public employee or person licensed is given actual notice
of any evidentiary hearing which may be held prior to final action being taken and of any meeting at
which final action may be taken. The notice shall contain a statement that the person has the right
to demand that the evidentiary hearing or meeting be held in open session.This paragraph and par.
(f) do not apply to any such evidentiary hearing or meeting where the employee or person licensed
requests that an open session be held.
