CITY OF MCKEESPORT REGULAR MEETING WEDNESDAY 7:00 PM MARCH 5, 2025 The regular meeting of Council was called to order on the above-stated date at the above-stated time by Council President Richard J. Dellapenna after the Pledge of Allegiance and a Moment of Silence. The following members of Council were present: RC-1 Present: Ms. Webb Vice President Nesbit President Dellapenna Mr. Evans Ms. Lape Absent: Mr. Barry Mr. Soles APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Vice President Nesbit asked for a Motion to Approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of January 8, 2025. MOTION: MS. NESBIT MOVED, SECONDED BY MS. WEBB, “TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 5, 2025.” RC-2 YEAS: Five (5) NAYS: None (0) COMMUNICATIONS: Annette James reported that we received both the Fire and Police reports for the month of February 2025. MAYOR’S REPORT: Mayor Cherepko stated that he gave the majority of his report during the Work Session, but he welcomed guests from the Tube City Writers and McKeesport Community Newsroom, who previously operated out of the Tube City Center and now are running a program at the Carnegie Library of McKeesport. CITIZENS IN THE AUDIENCE: 1. Yasmin Brown, 1301 Wilson Street, read aloud her soon-to-be-published poem in which she shares McKeesport’s past and her hope for the community’s future. 2. Tamra Mitchell, 1508 Centennial Street, spoke about parking problems on her street and asked if measures can be taken to ensure cars are not parked illegally by obstructing access to driveways. NEW BUSINESS: Bill #5 – INTRODUCED BY MR. SOLES – RESOLUTION – TABLED BILL – OF THE CITY OF MCKEESPORT, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AUTHORIZING THE PROPER CITY OFFICERS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SABLE KENNEL FOR ANIMAL CONTROL IN THE CITY OF MCKEESPORT FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING FEBRUARY 25, 2025 AND ENDING FEBRUARY 25, 2027. MOTION TO REMOVE BILL #5 FROM THE TABLE: Mrs. Lape moved, seconded by Ms. Nesbit “to remove Bill #5 from the table.” Vice President Nesbit asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-3 - YEAS: Five (5) NAYS: None (0) MOTION: Mr. Evans moved, seconded by Ms. Webb “to approve Bill #5.” President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-4 - YEAS: Five (5) NAYS: None (0) BILL #13 – INTRODUCED BY MRS. LAPE – ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MCKEESPORT, ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA - ESTABLISHING THE FEE FOR AN MFF PERMIT APPLICATION, A FOOD TRUCK PARK/COLLECTIVE PERMIT APPLICATION, AND A FOOD TRUCK PERMIT APPLICATION IN THE CITY OF MCKEESPORT. MOTION: Ms. Webb moved, seconded by Mrs. Lape “to approve Bill #13.” President Dellapenna asked for questions or comments and there were none. RC-5 - YEAS: Five (5) NAYS: None (0) ADJOURNMENT: President Dellapenna closed the Council meeting for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and thanked the audience for attending.
