MENOMONIE AIRPORT COMMISSION
November 30, 2022
The Menomonie Airport Commission was called to order by Chairman Dr. Dan
Johnson at 6:00pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 in the Menomonie Municipal
Airport Terminal Conference Room. Other Commission members present included:
Arvin Solsaa and Randy Sommerfeld. Others in attendance included: Randy
Eide, Darrel Gibson, Lowell Pange, Mark Grazcykowski (BOA), Tyler Leslie
(BOA), Melisa Underwood (SEH) and Tim Tyre.
There were no public comments.
The October 26, 2022 minutes were accepted by consensus.
Mark Grazcykowski and Tyler Leslie (both from the Bureau of Aeronautics) went
through the 2022 – 2026 ACIP for Menomonie Municipal Airport and associated
funding programs. There was no change in the project priorities but the
Commission emphasized the need for an Airport owned Transient Aircraft
Hangar. A MOTION was made by Sommerfeld, seconded by Solsaa, to start the
Transient Hangar Design in 2023 to allow for construction in 2024. MOTION
passed. Tyler Leslie will initiate the design process.
Melissa Underwood (SEH) reviewed the Airport Master Plan scope of work with
the Commission. Nine areas if interest were reviewed and endorsed by the
Commission. It was also agreed that the Technical Advisory Group should
include representatives from: Airport Commission, City Staff, City Council,
Local Airport Business User, UW Stout, Dunn County and a representative from
the adjacent Shorewood Heights Neighborhood.
Eide will be retiring on January 15, 2023 and was thanked by the Airport
Commission for his support to the Airport for the past 18-years.
Gibson reviewed the Airport Managers Report.
The Commission will not meet in December unless there is a time sensitive
issue they need to act on.
MOTION to adjourn by Solsaa, seconded by Sommerfeld. MOTION passed.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, 2022 at 6:00pm at
the Menomonie Municipal Airport Terminal.
