MENOMONIE AIRPORT COMMISSION
March 21, 2023
The Menomonie Airport Commission was called to order by Chairman Dr. Dan Johnson
at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in the Menomonie Municipal Airport Terminal
Building Conference Room. Other Commission members present included: Arvin
Solsaa, Kerry McCauley, Randy Sommerfeld, and Earl Wildenberg. Others in
attendance included: Darrel Gibson, David Schofield, Lowell Prange, Ross Nelson, Tim
Olson, and Melissa Underwood (SEH).
There were no public comments.
The February 21, 2023 minutes were accepted by consensus.
Melissa Underwood provided an update on the Master Plan. The BOA and SEH are
finalizing the contract with a kickoff meeting to follow
A motion was made by Solsaa, seconded by Wildenburg to support the Airport funding
petition as approved by the City Council. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Solsaa, seconded by McCauley to approve the Transient
Hangar Building business plan as amended. Motion carried.
Darrel Gibson reviewed the Airport Manager's Report.
Discussion regarding Ross Nelson’s request to construct a 56’ x 72’ hangar adjacent to
his current hangar.
Discussion regarding Dr. Dan Johnson’s request to construct a 56’ x 42’ hangar at the
North end. This has been submitted to the FAA.
CTH B utility extension scheduled for fall 2023.
Lowell’s Retirement celebration will be April 6th, 2pm at City Hall.
Motion to adjourn by Wildenberg, seconded by Solsaa. Motion passed.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday April 20, 2023 at 6:00pm at the Menomonie
Municipal Airport Terminal
