Menomonie Airport Commission Meeting Minutes August 16, 2023 The Menomonie Airport Commission was called to order by Chairman Dr. Dan Johnson (via telephone) at 6:05 pm on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the Menomonie Municipal Airport Terminal Building Conference Room. Other Commission members present included: Steven Lee, Randy Sommerfeld (via telephone), and Earl Wildenberg. Others in attendance included: Darrel Gibson, David Schofield, & Tim Olson There were no public comments. The June and July, 2023 minutes were accepted by consensus. Reports from David Schofield: We have received no updates from WisBOA regarding the AWOS project. Darrel indicated that the AWOS cut out earlier in the week (not broadcasting on the frequency). It has been repaired but the issue happens frequently. David will follow up with WisBOA. The Master Plan Kickoff Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 26th at 4:00 pm at City Hall. Invites will be sent and the meeting will be posted as a special airport commission meeting. There have been several discussions regarding the Transient Hangar project. WisBOA is seeking additional justification for the hangar. Darrel has been helpful in providing information. Gordy Smith has signed a revised lease, a renewed lease has been signed by Bob Allison and Michael Kuhn, and new leases have been signed by Dr. Dan Johnson and Ross Nelson. The City will be constructing utilities along CTH B which will require a NOTAM. Darrel Gibson presented Airport Manager’s Report. Darrel noted that PAPI’s are out on Runway #18 due to lack of bulbs. Men’s sink has been fixed. Next Meeting will be Wednesday September 20, 2023 at 6pm. A special meeting is scheduled for September 26, 2023 at 4pm for the Master Plan Kickoff.
