MENOMONIE BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
(BPAC)
January 23, 2023
The Menomonie Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee met on January 23,
2023 at 6:00PM in the Council Chambers (800 Wilson Ave). Committee
members in attendance included: David Williams, Mark Deyo Svendson,
Mark Mastalir, Kate Kramschuster and Logan Mather. Also in attendance:
Bob Colson, Burton Barnhart, John Wesolek, and Lowell Prange.
Chairperson Mather opened the meeting. MOTION by Kramschuster,
seconded by Williams, to approve the July 25, 2022 minutes. MOTION
passed.
Colson reviewed a memo he prepared relating to the Bicycle Friendly
Community Certification requirements. A number of these activities
may need to be undertaken and accomplished to maintain the bronze
level before the 2026 application is submitted. Also adding equity
and accessibility as a goal to engage underrepresented community
members could provide additional points to future applications.
Kramschuster expressed a desire to get more community involvement to
reach committee goals. Input from the Chamber/Tourism, School
District, Dunn County, etc. would be helpful to complete some of the
program objectives.
Williams suggested a future Bike Federation Summit be held in
Menomonie. It was also suggested that a representative of the
Wisconsin Bike Federation attend a future committee meeting.
Under BPAC concerns, there were general concerns regarding the
condition of the bicycle trail adjacent to Stokke Parkway and the
south end of Junction Trail.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned by the Chair. Next
meeting is scheduled for April 24, 2023 at 6:00pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Lowell Prange
Recording Secretary
