OFFICIAL COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin, was held in open session on March 4, 2024, and called to order by Mayor Knaack at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The following members were present: Luther, Burstad, Sutherland, McCullough, Schwebs, Gentz, Schlough, Erdman and Sommerfeld. Solberg and Yonko were absent. MOTION made by Erdman, seconded by Luther and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of the February 19, 2024 council meeting. PUBLIC HEARING – None PUBLIC COMMENTS – None RESOLUTION – MOTION made by Luther, seconded by Sutherland and carried unanimously to approve the resolution (2024-03) renaming 650th Avenue/Parkway Road/Parkway Drive to Eagle Point Road NE. MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Schwebs, and carried unanimously to approve the job descriptions for Communication Specialist, Parks & Public Property Foreman, and City Forester, as presented. MOTION made by Schlough, seconded by Erdman, and carried unanimously to approve the Special Event Permits for Get It Dunn Run, Mustang Stampede, Mabel’s Community Celebration, and Pickleball for Men and Women Leagues, as presented, contingent upon receiving certificates of insurance. RESOLUTION – MOTION was made by Schlough, seconded by Erdman, and carried to adopt the 2024 Arbor Day proclamation resolution (2024-04). RESOLUTION – MOTION was made by Burstad, seconded by Gentz, and carried to adopt the 2024 Migratory Bird Day recognition resolution (2024-05). MOTION made by McCullough, seconded by Schwebs and carried unanimously to approve the appointment of Veronika Zazovsky to the Downtown Menomonie Board and Keith Gilland and Dave Williams to the Urban Forestry Board. BUDGET TRANSFERS – None MAYOR’S REPORT – The Mayor shared that the City will be holding an electronics clean-up and recycling event at the Community Services Department shop on April 25, 2024, from 2pm-6pm. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS – Public Works Director, Schofield, shared that the spring curbside yard waste pickup will be collected by the Community Services Department with dates to come. Administrator Atkinson advised a resolution to close TID 12 will be brought to Council during the March 18, 2024 meeting, and city staff are working on the creation of TID #19 (in addition to our TID #15, our downtown TID) which will come before the Council in the near future.
