Joint Meeting of the Methuen City Council and the Methuen School Committee Monday, August 1, 2022 – 6:00 pm Great Hall, Searles Building NOTICE OF A JOINT MEETING OF THE METHUEN CITY COUNCIL AND THE METHUEN SCHOOL COMMITTEE 1. Roll Call a. The Methuen City Council will call a roll of its members. b. The Methuen School Committee will call a roll of its members. 2. Acceptance of the Agenda a. The Methuen City Council will vote on the acceptance of this agenda. b. The Methuen School Committee will vote on the acceptance of this agenda. 3. EXECUTIVE SESSION – EXEMPTION 6 a. The Methuen City Council will vote to enter into Executive Session, with the Mayor, the Superintendent of the Methuen Public Schools, the Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, legal counsel for the City of Methuen, and the Methuen School Committee, in accordance with Exemption 6 (Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(6)), in order to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property (9 Branch Street, Methuen, Massachusetts) if the Chair declares that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the public body. Following the conclusion of the Executive Session, the City Council will adjourn and not reconvene in open session. b.
