In accordance with Section 3-5(b) of the Methuen Home Rule Charter, Mayor Beauregard has called a Remote Special Meeting of the Methuen City Council on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. This Meeting will be held virtually via Zoom for the following purposes: EXECUTIVE SESSION – EXEMPTIONS 4 AND 5 For the Methuen City Council to vote to enter into Executive Session with the Mayor, the Chief of Police of the City of Methuen, Methuen’s Chief Administrative and Financial Officer, the Director of Economic and Community Development, and legal counsel for the City of Methuen, for the following three purposes: - To discuss the deployment of security personnel or devices, or strategies with respect thereto, in accordance with Exemption 4 (Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(4)); - To investigate/discuss charges of criminal misconduct or to consider the filing of criminal complaints, in accordance with Exemption 5 (Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30A, Section 21(a)(5); and - To vote on a contract (C-25-60) with Alliance Detective and Security Service Inc., 930 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149 in the amount of $51,822,00 for security services. At the conclusion of the executive session, the City Council will adjourn and not reconvene in open session.
