Methuen Cultural Council Grant Awards Meeting
Monday January 30, 2023 @ 6pm
Nevins Memorial Library, Study Room
Members present: Gratia Gosselin, John Broscoe, Karen Broscoe, Chair Jennifer
Loiselle.
Absent Members: Christine Condon, David Jones
Meeting Minutes
Minutes from the January 9th Meeting were read and approved.
Financial Report
Jennifer Reports that some grants have been reimbursed since the last financial report.
The council has reimbursed $8,465 since the June 30, 2022 financial report. The
Account Balance Ending Date 12/31/22 is $78,255.85
Member Roles
Jennifer Loiselle was voted Chair, the motion was made by Karen Broscoe, seconded
by Gratia and voted unanimously. Karen Broscoe was voted Secretary, the motion was
made by Jennifer and seconded by John and voted unanimously.
Review of Submitted Grants and Next Steps
20 grants were approved for funding. 8 grants were not approved for funding. The Chair
will write to the applicants for the eight grants not funded. They will have two weeks to
file an objection. When that is complete, the chair will send letters of approval and other
paperwork to the grantees. This motion was approved and the vote was unanimous.
Council Business
The council accepts 5% of allocated funds to be used towards administrative costs.
The council accepts 20% of allocated funds to be used towards a Council Sponsored
Musical Program.
Next meeting will be announced.

The meeting adjourned at 7:05pm.
