SPECIAL MEETING – September 25, 2015 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Michigan City, Indiana, met in a SPECIAL SESSION on Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015 at the hour of 1:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall Building, located at 100 East Michigan Boulevard, Michigan City Indiana – a regular meeting room of this Board. The meeting was called to order by Vice-President Michael Palmer, who presided. Noted present: Michael Palmer and Virginia Keating (2). Absent: Steve Janus (1). A QUORUM WAS NOTED PRESENT. Also noted in attendance: Amber Lapaich, Corporate Counsel Charles Peller, City Engineer Jennifer Clouse, City Clerk Secretary AWARDING OF BIDS – 2015 Street & Sidewalk Program, Phase II Spike Peller the City Engineer for the City of Michigan City, first thanked the board for having the Special Meeting. The Bids were opened on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Special Meeting. The EEO package has been reviewed by Jeff Deuitch and he recommends approval. Corporate Counsel Amber Lapaich has reviewed the contract as well. Mr. Peller believes everything is in order and would request that the Board approve awarding the bid for 2015 Street & Sidewalk Program, Phase II to Rieth-Riley. Virginia Keating made a motion to award the contract to Rieth-Riley in the amount of $296,420.25. The motion was seconded by Vice-President Palmer and carries as follows: AYES: MEMBERS Palmer and Keating (2). NAYS: (0). Motion Carries. ADJOURNMENT Vice-President Palmer inquired whether there was anything else to be considered by the Board at this time and, there being none, declared the meeting ADJOURNED (approximately 1:03 p.m.). Virginia Keating made the motion to adjourn. The motion was seconded by Vice-President Palmer and carried as follows: AYES: MEMBERS Palmer and Keating (2). NAYS: None (0).
