Neulieb Date: February 25, 2016 Subject: Joint Public Workshop Thursday, March 3, 2016 City Council Chamber, City Hall Time 6:00 p.m. “Mayor Ron Meer is inviting the City Council, Park Board, Sanitary District Board, Water Department Board, Board of Works, Airport Board, and Port Authority Board, along with their respective attorneys and whomsoever else a Board wishes to have attend, to a joint public workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to receive and discuss information regarding the Guaranteed Energy Savings method for funding capital improvement projects that result in energy savings and, as a result, save sufficient money to pay for the projects. In addition, the results of a preliminary investigation in identifying potential energy saving improvements that could be made for the various City Departments the cost of which would be funded with the money saved from the energy savings resulting from those improvements. Mayor Meer believes that using the Guaranteed Energy Savings method for funding certain energy savings projects would be in the best interests of the citizens of Michigan City since it would not require the expenditure of public funds in excess of what is already budgeted by the various departments and organizations for electricity and natural gas.”
