SPECIAL ZOOM MEETING – June 10, 2022 The Board of Public Works, and Safety of the City of Michigan City, Indiana met in special session on Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022, at the hour of 12:00 p.m., local time, hosted by “ZOOM” and streamed live on “My Michigan City” Facebook page. The meeting was called to order by President, Virginia Keating, who presided. Noted present: Virginia Keating, Vice President Michael Vinson, and Mayor Duane Parry (3) Absent: (0) A QUORUM WAS NOTED PRESENT. Also noted in attendance: Amber Lapaich-Stalbrink, Corporate Counsel Andrew Matanic, IT Stacy Dudley, Deputy Clerk NO PARKING SIGN REQUEST- Request to place “No Parking” signs along the Southeast corner of N. Lake Avenue and Lakeshore Drive President Keating asked if there were any questions from the Board. Mayor Parry addressed the Board explaining the reason for this request. Further discussion ensued between Vice President Vinson and Mayor Parry regarding how big of an area will be restricted and the reason why. President Keating asked Shong Smith how soon he can get the signs posted. Shong Smith, Director M.C. Central Services answered President Keating by stating that they already have three (3) pre-existing “No Parking Violators Will be Towed at Owners Expense” and are looking at three (3) more signs taking about 72 hours. President Keating asked if there were any other questions from the Board, there was no response. Mayor Parry made the motion to approve the request to place “No Parking” signs along the Southeast corner of N. Lake Avenue and Lakeshore Drive. The motion was seconded by Vice President Vinson. The motion carried as follows: AYES: MEMBERS Keating, Vinson, and Parry (3). NAYS: (0). Motion Carries. ADJOURNMENT The presiding officer inquired whether there was anything else to be considered by the Board at this time and, there being none, asked for a motion to ADJOURN the meeting at approximately 12:03 p.m. President Keating made the motion to Adjourn.
