SPECIAL ZOOM MEETING –
June 24, 2022
The Board of Public Works, and Safety of the City of Michigan City, Indiana met in Special
Session on Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022, at the hour of 1:00 p.m., local time, hosted by
“ZOOM” and streamed live on “My Michigan City” Facebook page.
The meeting was called to order by President, Virginia Keating, who presided.
Noted present: Virginia Keating, Vice President Michael Vinson, and Mayor Duane Parry (3)
Absent: (0)
A QUORUM WAS NOTED PRESENT.

STREET CLOSURE REQUEST- Terry Greetham, Special Events Director is requesting a
street closure on Pine Street from East Michigan Boulevard to Highway 12 to 11th
Street and closure of 9th Street from Pine Street to Washington Street and closure of 10th
Street from Pine Street to Washington Street on July 2, 2022, from 6:30 am-2:00 pm for
the Michigan City Patriotic Parade (The original closure of Franklin Street from 10th Street
to Harrison Street from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm is still needed)
President Keating asked if there were any questions from the Board, there was no response.
Vice President Vinson made the motion to approve the request for these street closures on
July 2, 2022 from 6:30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. for the Michigan City Patriotic Parade. The motion
was seconded by Mayor Parry. The motion carried as follows: AYES: MEMBERS Keating,
Vinson, and Parry (3). NAYS: (0). Motion Carries.
ADJOURNMENT
The presiding officer inquired whether there was anything else to be considered by the Board
at this time and, there being none, asked for a motion to ADJOURN the meeting at
approximately 1:02 p.m. Mayor Parry made the motion to Adjourn. The motion was seconded
by Vice President Vinson.
