Seconded by Cox All in favor I’s 10 Nay’s 0 Motion carried Treasurers Report (See Attached) Two (2) items subtracted since last meeting. Five hundred dollars ($500) to the basketball camp One thousand dollars ($1000) to Scholarship winner. Current Balance $3,736.15 Pending Transaction One thousand dollars ($1000) to Laura for African Garden Balance After Pending Transactions $2,736.15 Review of Social Status Spending will be available next month  Motion made by Norvell to accept the Treasurer's Report Seconded by Cox All in favor I’s 10 Nay’s 0 Motion Carried Scholarship Scholarship Committee -Commissoners Corely, Tillman, and Troutman convened Three (3) Scholarship Applicants Applicants were reviewed winner was choosen based on Eligibility Requirements and Essay Soloman Martin, Michigan City High School Senior, Football Player, attending Marion University in the fall majoring in Secondary Education. Unable to attend Motion made by Carnes to accept Soloman Martin as our Scholarship Winner Seconded by Milsap All in favor I’s 10 Nay’s 0 Motion carried Scholarship have been available for 5 years. Challenges are present in finding African American Male Applicants but the committee prevails. Troutman will send his information to Rev. Ashley. African Garden Plants are in the ground. Watering is needed, the Rain has provided thus far. Seeking Green thumb Commissioner to Chair Garden volunteers to maintain the Garden. A Few Adults and a Master Gardener. No Commissioners have volunteered. Williams was involved last year Guest Speaker Ricky Anderson, Rushing For Yards Focus on football players to raise money for equipment and traveling, Program will help Players build resume and future success.. Elected 50 individuals to have their yards cut. Sponsorships needed for gas, lawnmowers, water, and other needs. All checks made out to Michigan City High School. Friday, June 12 will be the first day to cut yards. 10 yards this week. Seeking more Vetern yards Motion moved to donate two hundred dollars ($200) to Rushing for yards by Corely. Cox donated fifty dollars ($50). Civic Plaza will be inclusive to all residents based on community survey to attend, participate, and sustain the plaza Space to include a stage, designated area for seniors and children. Stage available to rent to hold events. Will not be ran by city, however through a 501 © 3 seeking annual fundings from the city. Secretary will put on social media and new paper Joan Ganschow Drug Free Partnership had Breakfast and Learn Wednesday June 5th that went well. Will meet again on the first Wednesday of the month in August. No july meeting due to holiday Lester Norvell Deaths in Eastport are a problem. Last week there was a death in Eastport the problem needs addressing.
