Minutes Michigan City Public Art Committee Special Sculptfusion Meeting Mayors Conference Room at City Hall June 30, 2022 9:00 am Call to Order: Robin Kohn Attendees: Shannon Eason, Jane Daley, Robin Kohn, Judy Jacobi, CarolAnn Brown, Dale Cooper, John Ryszka, Kathy Dennis Agenda Item to Consider: Vote on the mounting base for Mikinaak (Turtle). Cost is $4,000. Ms. Eason explained that the stainless steel plate for the turtle to sit on will cost $1,600. alone, so the actual instillation will be $5,600. Ms. Eason said that the new sculptures and the turtle will be installed for the kick off event. Motion It was moved (Daley) and seconded (Cooper) to get the turtle installed not to exceed $5,600. The motion carried unanimously. Ms. Daley reported that she, Ms. Cooper and Ms. Dennis visited Agave Mansion as a site for the Sculptfusion kick-off event and Agave Mansion agreed to host the event. Motion: It was moved (Eason) and seconded (Daley) to plan the Sculptfusion event at Agave Mansion. The motion carried unanimously. Ms. Daley will prepare an agenda for the Sculptfusion kick off party to be held at Agave Mansion on Wednesday, August 3rd starting at 5:30 pm. Ms. Daley will send an email invitation to artists, local government officials and others. Mr. Ryszka will prepare an Otocast presentation to be shown at the event.
