ANTI-RACISM TASK FORCE
MIDDLETOWN, CONNECTICUT
REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 8, 2021
Present: Valerie Light, Kirk Hart, Patricia Alston, Councilman Ed Ford Jr., Councilman Darnell
Ford, Kayon Morgan, Viviana Conner, Councilwoman Jeanette Blackwell
1. Call to Order.
Meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.
2. Public Comment.
One person from the public in attendance. Councilman Darnell Ford closed the public
comment.
3. Approval of Minutes:
MOTION: Kirk Hart made a MOTION to approve the minutes of the October 25, 2021 Anti-
Racism Task Force Special Meeting. The Motion was seconded by Patricia Alston. The Motion
passed unanimously. Councilman Ed Ford Jr. and Councilwoman Jeanette Blackwell were not
present during this vote.
4. New Business.
A. Discuss and set Anti-Racism Task Force Meeting Calendar for 2022
B. Discussion on plans to submit CRB recommendations by December meeting
C. NCCJ Report (standing item); discuss next steps
1) Review member assignments
2) Discussion of theme assignments
3) Member report back (data collection/research/projects) on each assigned theme
area
D. Discussion of strategic two year plan; discuss next steps
1) Develop template for strategic plan
2) Input assignment work into the strategic plan
5. Adjournment.
MOTION to adjourn made by Valerie Light. The MOTION was seconded by Kayon Morgan.
The Motion passed unanimously. Viviana Conner was not present during this vote. The
meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
