MIDDLETOWN AREA TRANSIT Minutes for Wednesday, May 9, 2018 Meeting Thomas A. Cheeseman Transportation Center, Middletown Area Transit Maintenance Facility, 91 North Main Street, Middletown, CT 1. Call to Order - B. Lawrence called the meeting to order at 5:18pm. Board Members Present: Beverly Lawrence; James Dunn Board Members Absent: None Voting Members Excused: None Guests Present: Joe Comeford; Edward Bailey, First Selectman, Middlefield; Samuel Gold; Laura Francis; Jonathan Shapiro Staff Present: Lisa Seymour, Administrator; Whitney Klare, Clerk Public Present: None. 2. Public Comments - None. 3. Appointment of Management Contract RFP Evaluation Committee - Discussion of advisory committee appointed to inform MAT board regarding RFP. Advisory committee appointed to get RFP released as soon as possible. J. Dunn and B. Lawrence approved advisory committee. E. Bailey and L. Francis appointed to advise MAT board on RFP. 4. RFP Discussion and Approval - Discussion of contract that is already in place and approved by MAT board. Suggestion to add current contract to RFP. J. Dunn strongly recommends current contract is reviewed by J. Shapiro before RFP is released. J. Dunn expressed questions and concerns about the current contract. Discussion of insurance policy.
